Business Background

Mr. Irwin has anchored his business on more than 35 years experience in providing aircraft maintenance and flight operations services to business aircraft owners and operators.

 As both a pilot and an A&P technician, he has a combination of skill sets that have helped him become a valued aviation industry resource.

In the course of refining the current business model of JETTECH, Mr. Irwin held numerous key management positions for air carriers as well as dealing with FAA compliance issues.

 As part of the ongoing RVSM certification program, Mr. Irwin also provides flight and ground test certifications and Auto-Pilot certification

 
Flight Experience

 Mr. Irwin has 15,000 hours of flight time and holds multiple type ratings for fixed and rotary wing aircraft.  Additionally he holds an ATP rating in both fixed and rotary wing aircraft and is also a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) for fixed, rotary and glider aircraft. 

 Mr. Irwin began his flying career in the U.S. Army where he served combat tours of duty in Southeast Asia and Desert Storm.  He has been awarded the Bronze Star, Distinguished Flying Cross and 21 air medals. Currently he continues to serve as a reservist.

 
Boards and Organizations

 Mr. Irwin currently serves on the FAAs Steering Committee for rule making and FAA sub committees He also chairs the advisory board at Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology.

 JETTECH is a member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA); Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA); AMT, and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Associations (AOPA)

J. “Rob” Irwin founded JETTECH in 1996 with a goal of establishing a company that would become a source for aircraft owners and operators seeking solutions to mandated aviation systems modifications that are not supported by factory OEM engineered installation.

As founder and manager/member, Mr. Irwin has developed numerous FAA Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) including Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) aftermarket solutions.  Currently JETTECH RVSM solutions include STCs for Piper Cheyenne 400 LS and IIIAs and Cessna Citations with Bendix, Sperry and early King autopilots.

 The STCs for the Cheyenne 400LS, IIIA and Citation 500 series with pre-275 serial numbers, are the only RVSM solutions available for these aircraft
